Postpartum Doula Services
A postpartum doula is a lot like a birth doula in that we see to your physical, emotional, and educational needs. But instead of helping you with birth, I help you adjust to life with a new baby. Many other cultures recognize the importance of supporting a new mother after she gives birth. She is often surrounded by generations of women - her mother, grandmother, aunts, female cousins, and sisters - who see to all her needs so she can focus solely on bonding with her baby. Unfortunately, our culture doesn't quite have the same standards of support yet. I am passionate about maternal mental health and helping new moms feel cared for and supported during those crucial weeks after baby is born. I want you to feel supported, not overwhelmed, during this time of transition and adjustment. Contact me today so we can discuss how I can help!

Postpartum support will look different for everyone, and we will discuss your specific needs prior to the birth. In general, I will help with a variety of things including: newborn care and feeding support, postpartum healing and mental health support, assistance with establishing new roles and systems in the family, caring for older children, light meal preparation and cooking, light housework (like laundry and dishes), setting up a meal train for those first weeks home with baby, help with creating a long-term postpartum care plan, resource list for lactation support, chiropractic care, postpartum mental health, and other specialties, and access to my lending library of birth and postpartum books.
